"Garden Shed" Preparation Information

"Garden Shed" Memo Board

Class: March 16, 2013 at 9:30 am  Location: Sagamore Beach Fire Stn. Community Room

SURFACE: JB Wood Products Item No. 0321 Framed Panel - 15.5 in. square. Contact JB Wood
(Surface is included in the Class Fee for the first 20 painters who sign up for the class.  Additional painters must provide their own surface.)

PREPARATION: Fill nail holes around edges. Sand smooth and wipe away dust. Basecoat/seal all sides (front, back, edges) with equal parts water-base sealer and paint (choose DecoArt Americana Sea Glass, Silver Sage, Winter Blue, Gray Sky or Dove Gray). Let dry. Sand lightly and wipe away dust. Apply top coat of straight paint (no sealer added). Let dry. Use an inexpensive natural bristle "chip" brush to gray vertical streaks of DecoArt Bleached Sand across the front side of the board to give a rustic effect.  See photo here. NOTE: Do not transfer of paint the blackboard area.  The pattern will be transferred and the Blackboard Paint applied when you arrive on the day of class! March 16, 2013 at 9:30 am.

SUPPLIES TO BRING TO CLASS: 1 inch "chip" brush, size 3/4 inch flat wash brush, size 12 flat, size 6 ultra-round, size 1 mid-liner; 12 inch ruler, masking tape, water-base sealer, gray graphite transfer paper, stylus, pencil, background paint of your choice listed above.  Also, a palette, water bowl & paper towels.

  2. Hopefully more members participate in the blogs. Great idea. Sorry I have to miss the Marhc class. It is an awesome project. For all that are attending have a great time.
